New Cinema Camera For Conservation Filmmaking Work in 2024

I couldn’t be more thrilled to share with you my excitement for the upcoming year, 2024. Why, you ask? Well, it’s because I’ve added a remarkable Blackmagic cinema camera to my filmmaking arsenal.

As a filmmaker, visual storytelling is at the core of my craft. While my current equipment has served me well for many years, growth in my conservation video business is now enabling me to take another important step. Cinema cameras are advanced tools for storytelling. The richness and depth of colors, the dynamic range, and incredible clarity that these cameras provide will elevate my storytelling capabilities.

I’m particularly excited about the improved low-light performance, as it will allow me to capture even more scenes in the darkest of environments. Memo to self: Remember that midnight filmmaking assignment filming biologists capturing and studying bat health before releasing them back into the wild?

With the added flexibility of frame rates and resolution options, I’ll have the freedom to experiment and push the boundaries of my cinematography. This opens up endless possibilities for captivating my audience and making them feel even more emotionally connected to the characters and stories I bring to life in my conservation video work assignments for environmental nonprofits.

Again, none of this investment in cutting-edge advanced filmmaking equipment would be possible without the amazing support of conservation nonprofits and environmental organizations over the past decade. So thank you!

I am thrilled to embark on this latest journey in my evolution of creating cinematic magic for conservation in Canada. As they say, lights, camera, action for another rewarding year ahead working across Ontario and beyond.
